

Born July 19, 1926 on his family’s dairy farm in Macon, Georgia, to Ben and Grace Barfield Reeves, Emory was a graduate of Lanier High School and worked for Cherokee Farms, delivering milk, for many years. Later he was a roofing contractor with Pittman-Waller, and after retiring he worked part-time at Phil’s Foods Store and as a delivery driver for AlphaGraphics.
A member of Crossroads United Methodist Church in Perry, Emory enjoyed singing hymns. He led the singing for many years at Doles Methodist Church in Macon.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers and sisters: Mary Moulton, Edna Sikes, Ralph Reeves, John Reeves, Jane Stabler, and Charles Reeves. Survivors include his wife, Eleanor Smith Reeves, and his children, Harold (Sally) Reeves of Savannah, Jim (Denise) Reeves of Juliette, and Laura (Richard) Dannenberg of Perry. One of his greatest joys in life were his grandchildren, Leslie (Reggie) Saltares of Deer Trail, CO, Robert (Ayaka) Reeves of Poulsbo, WA, Amelia (Paul) Kelly of Washington, DC, Caryn Reeves (Alexandre Burgand) of Macon, Christopher (Paige) Reeves of Juliette, Dot Dannenberg (Jake Williams) of Alexandria, VA, Ellie Dannenberg of Chicago, IL, Leah Dannenberg of Gainesville, FL, Wil Dannenberg of Tallahassee, FL, and Madeline Dannenberg of Oklahoma City, OK. He was also blessed with eight great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 2:30 PM Saturday at Snow’s Memorial Chapel, 746 Cherry Street in Macon. The family may be contacted at the Dannenberg/Reeves home in Perry and will greet friends following the memorial service. Burial will be private for family only at Doles United Methodist Church Cemetery. Rev. Leland C. Collins will officiate.
