Harmon was born in Butler, Georgia to the late Harmon Gardner Pye, Sr. and Marion Marzelia Watson Pye. He was a graduate of the University of Georgia, earning his degree as a pharmacist, and proudly served his country in the United States Navy, during the Korean War.
Harmon loved the outdoors, fishing and hunting, and was an assistant leader of Boy Scout Troop 5, of Macon, Georgia in the mid 70's. He was also featured in the "Who's Who of Georgia". He was a Sr. District Representative for Merck & Co for 33 years. After his retirement, he worked for several retail pharmacies, including Kennedy Drugs, Chi-Chesters, and Coliseum Medical Center's pharmacy.
Left to carry his legacy are his wife of 66 years and 18 days, Catherine C. Pye; sons, Harmon Gardner Pye, III (Kimberly); Craig Pye (Rae); grandchildren, Matthew Pye, Meghan Pye ,Robert Pye, Donna Ashley Pye; great grandchildren, Evelyn Pye, Gabriel Pye. He is also survived by his brother, Walter Joseph Pye (Ellen) of Butler and sister, Carlotta Riddle Pye Cochran (Tom) of Fairfax, VA.
