Hazel Davidson Lipford

Hazel Davidson Lipford, 92, went home to be with her Lord on Sunday after an extended illness. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Liberty United Methodist Church with interment in the church cemetery. The Rev. Bob Shell and Dr. William W. Oliver will officiate. The Family will greet friends from 6:00 to 8:00 Tuesday at Snow’s Memorial Chapel, Pio Nono Avenue. Mrs. Lipford was the widow of James Russell Lipford after having been married for 61 years. She was born in Charleston, South Carolina to the late Murrell L. and Margaret Belle Wilkinson Davidson. She was a homemaker and a graduate of old Lanier High School. Mrs. Lipford was also the bookkeeper for her husband’s business. She was formally a member of the First Baptist Church of Christ where she taught in the Sunday School Department and was a Sunbeam Leader. Mrs. Lipford was a member of Liberty United Methodist Church, where she was member of Fellowship Sunday School Class and the United Methodist Women. She left a legacy to her children of loving God and to pass that love on to their children. She was preceded in death by 2 sisters; Mary Joyce Davidson Burrroughs and Helen Davidson Shaw and a brother; Murrell L. Davidson.

Mrs. Lipford is survived by her children; Murrell Ann (Jimmy)Lipford Bowman, James Russell (Dolores)Lipford,Jr. both of Macon, Hazel Lynn (Skipper)Lipford Hudson of Eatonton, Grandchildren; Keith (Gina) Bowman, Laura (Tim) Graves, Craig ( Jodi) Bowman, Rusty (Angela) Lipford, Barry (Alicia) Bowman, Kevin (Andrea) Lipford, Jeremy Lipford, Peter Hudson, and Joshua Hudson, 5 Great-granddaughters and 6 Great-Grandsons
