Louie was born in Camilla, GA on May 28, 1933, to India and Webb Bullard. He graduated from Camilla High School and then graduated from North Georgia College in Dahlonega, GA. After serving in the United States Army, he began a thirty-year career in the banking industry. Louie excelled in academics and athletics while attending school, having signed a professional baseball contract with Cincinnati, playing in the minor leagues until an arm injury ended that pursuit.
Louie was a huge Georgia Bulldog fan and an avid golfer. You could find him on the course two to three times per week, weather permitting, and sometimes even when the weather was in question. He served as a Director of Central GA Senior Golf, President of Middle GA Senior Golf, and was a member of the Dixie Senior Golf Association. He served in the Macon Exchange Club for many years, winning Exchangite of the Year in 2012. Louie also was a member of the Friends are Forever Group, a collection of college friends who met quarterly.
A member of Forest Hill Methodist Church, Louie is survived by his wife of 58 years, Bobbie Dayton Bullard, their three children, Mark (Charlotte, NC), Todd (Belle Mead, NJ), and Brooke (Tennille, GA) all of who Louie coached throughout their Little League years. Louie had three grandchildren who their “Pop” adored. Gabby Kitchens (Tennille, GA), and Grayson and Lauren Bullard (Belle Mead, NJ). Louie was predeceased by five brothers and five sisters.
