

Ida Elizabeth Gilbert, 89, passed away Wednesday at Pine Pointe Hospice. Graveside services and a celebration of her life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday in the Chapel of Glen Haven Memorial Gardens Mausoleum with the Rev. Marty Watson officiating. Burial will be private. The family will meet friends from 1:00 p.m. to service time on Saturday in the Mausoleum Chapel. Memorial gifts may be made to Pine Pointe Hospice, 6261 Peake Road, Macon 31210.
Mrs. Gilbert, wife of the late James J. Gilbert, was born in Macon and was the daughter of the late Robert and Ida Mae Ellington Meeks. She was Supervisor of Environmental Services at Coliseum Park Hospital. Mrs. Gilbert was a member of Bloomfield Gardens Baptist Church and a member of the Red Hat Society at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church.
A devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister, she is survived by those she loved most, her children, Janice Garrett of Macon and Mike (Tessa) Gilbert of Barnesville; grandchildren, Chad Garrett, Stacy Garrett, Jonathan (Jenny) Gilbert, Alexander (Ashley) Gilbert, Amanda Gulayets, Anthony (Jessica) Gulayets, and Alayna (Jeremy) Fowler; great grandchildren, Brandon Gilbert, Caleb Gilbert, Audrey Gilbert, Kolin Gilbert and Mason Gulayets; her sister, Rose Jeanne Walker of Thomaston; her sisters-in-law, Gwen (Ken) Trunk, Gloria Clark; brother-in-law, Ronnie (Betty) Gilbert; nieces and nephews.
