James "Jimmie" Nixon Wood IV passed on March 31, 2026, at the age of 75. A Celebration of His Life will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, April 7, 2026 at New Haven Baptist Church, 893 New Haven Church Road, Gordon, GA 31031 with visitation beginning at 1:00 PM. Rev. Sam Loyd will officiate. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to New Haven Baptist Church, Building Fund.
Jimmie was born in Macon the son of the late Ethel Thompson Wood and James Nixon Wood, III. He was preceded in death by his wife, Emily Cheryl Wood, a daughter, Michelle Glover Allen and a grandson, Justin Laith Allen. Jimmie was a long-time member of New Haven Baptist Church and will be missed by many. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother.
Jimmie is survived by his children, James Larry Glover Jr., (Kathy) Christie Glover Walsh (David), Jimmie Wood (Brittany), Angie Wood, and Tim Wood (Michelle); 11 grandchildren; sister, Ellen Martin (Jerome); dear friends, Debbie & Frank Sagnibene.
Snow's Memorial Chapel, Bass Road, has charge of arrangements.
