Janet P Dixon

Janet P. Dixon, 94, passed away Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at a local hospice facility. A celebration of her life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday at Snow’s Memorial Chapel, Pio Nono with burial in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. The Rev. Larry Partain will officiate. The family will meet friends from 6 – 8 p.m., Friday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Dixon, wife of the late Sam Dixon, was born in Dawson the daughter of the late Evelyn and William Payne. She was retired as a school bus driver with Bibb County Board of Education. Mrs. Dixon was a member of Houston Heights Baptist Church and after retiring, she and her late husband served the community with several volunteer groups. She was preceded in death by her son, Kenneth Dixon. Above all, she loved her church and her church family and was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Survivors include those she loved most, her sons, Ronnie Dixon and Gerald Dixon; her daughter-in-law, Jean Dixon; eight beloved grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren.
