

A visitation for Janet will be held Friday, October 3, 2025 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Culloden Primitive Baptist Church, 270 Main Street, Culloden, GA 31016, followed by a Celebration of her Life at 4:00 PM. Pastor Pat McCoy will officiate. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Janet's memory may be made to Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance.
Janet Stuart Pierson was born in Forsyth, Georgia on August 31, 1962, the first of two daughters to her parents, Bobbie Chappell Stuart and Phelps Stuart.
Janet was joyful, known for her kindness and beauty. She enjoyed cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs, watching Perry Mason, and feeding her beloved hummingbirds in her spare time. She loved researching the history of Culloden and family members. Her greatest joy was being “GaGa” to her grandbabies.
Janet attended Mary Persons High School where she was the 1979 homecoming queen. She was also a cheerleader. She graduated from the University of Georgia with a Political Science Major.
Janet worked as a teaching assistant at Stratford Academy. She loved touching the lives of all of her students. After working at Stratford, Janet started a new career being an assistant at the District Attorney’s Office in Macon, then Griffin, and finally her hometown of Forsyth. She made many friends at each office and continued those friendships throughout her life.
Janet is survived by her devoted husband, George Lee Pierson, Sr., her sweet sister, Shirley Stuart Quevedo (Juan Carlos), her loving children George Lee Pierson, Jr. and Catherine Pierson Crowley (Jay Crowley) and her precious grandchildren Clayton Crowley and Carter Crowley; several nieces and nephews.
Snow's Memorial Chapel, Bass Road, has charge of arrangements.
