A Celebration of her Life will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at Vineville Baptist Church. Burial will be private for family only in Riverside Cemetery. Dr. Richard Kremer and Dr. Bill Hardee will officiate. The family will greet friends following the service in the sanctuary of the church. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Vineville Baptist Church, Endowment Fund, 2591 Vineville Avenue, Macon 31204 or Stratford Academy, 6010 Peake Road, Macon 31220.
Mrs. Jay was born in Bonaire, Georgia the daughter of the late Ardelle Sisson Finlayson and George Thomas Finlayson and was preceded in death by her brother, George Theron Finlayson. She was the owner/Operator of the 70 year old family business, the White Diamond Grill in Bonaire, Georgia. She was a faithful member of Vineville Baptist Church where she was a Sunday School Teacher and former Secretary of the Adult Sunday School Department. Mrs. Jay had her Georgia Real Estate License and initially worked with Jay and Associates, LLC. She graduated with a Bachelors Degree from Tift College. She was a Trustee of Tift College and served as Secretary of the Board of Trustees. Mrs. Jay was a Rush Mother for Phi Mu Sorority at Auburn University. She was a teacher at Bonaire Elementary School and was a substitute teacher at Stratford Academy. Most of all, Mrs. Jay was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
Mrs. Jay is survived by her husband of 53 years, Charles Allan Jay of Macon; daughters, Kristy Jay Wilson (Dr. Robert) of Macon and Kelly Jay Cross (Clint) of Alpharetta; grandchildren, Mariah Wilson, Hannah Wilson, Sloane Ramsbottom, Laila Wilson, Robert Wilson, III, Charles Cross, Kacey Cross, and Reese Cross.
