L. Marvin Roberts, Jr., retired owner of North Side Pharmacy, Inc., in Atlanta, GA, passed into glory on May 26, 2018 at the age of 90. Marvin was born in Atlanta on April 15, 1928 to L. Marvin Roberts, Sr. and Martha Middlebrooks Roberts. He graduated from North Fulton High School, attended Emory for two years, and graduated from Southern College of Pharmacy (now Mercer) in 1950. He married Caroline Hodges in 1949 and they were blessed with four children. Upon retirement in 1994 he and Caroline moved to Bent Tree in Jasper, GA, where he enjoyed his favorite hobby of fishing.
He was an active member of Fellowship Presbyterian Church, where he participated in men’s Bible studies and helped maintain the grounds. He was also an active volunteer for several charities in Jasper.
He was preceded in death by Caroline, his devoted wife of 66 years, and his grandson David Benjamin Hawkins. He is survived by his children, Virginia Kinman and husband, Lowe, Kathy Hawkins and husband, Jay, Elizabeth Ann Roberts, and Paul Roberts and wife, Leah; grandchildren Jason (Allison) Hawkins, Mary Beth Kinman, Taylor (Ashleigh) Roberts and Travis Roberts; great grandchildren Benjamin and Patton Hawkins; brother Eugene T. Roberts, brother-in-law Sam N. Hodges and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at a later date at Fellowship Presbyterian Church in Jasper, GA.
