Margaret Lucille Atwood, 81, passed away at her residence on Sunday, February 28, 2021 with family by her side. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, March 3 at 3 o'clock, at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens, led by Rev. Claire Davis. Family will greet friends on Tuesday evening from 5 until 7 o'clock at Snow's Memorial Chapel, Pio Nono Ave.
Mrs. Atwood was born in Canton, Georgia, Cherokee County, to the late Simon and Willard Pope Rampley. She attended high school in Cherokee County and worked at Boeing as a painter, until its closure, then became a Civil Service Clerk for Robins Air Force Base until she retired. Lucy enjoyed the outdoors and watching the neighbor children at play.
Lucy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, J.D. Atwood in 2003, and her brother, Grady Rampley in 2011.
Left to cherish her memory are her son, James Wilson; sister, Alene Rickets; best friend, Lynn Hurdle; and her chihuahua Judge.
