Marvin Larry Kemper

Marvin Larry Kemper, age 86, of Macon, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, August 7, 2024. Larry was born in Macon and had lived here for most of his life. He was the son of the late Marvin E. Kemper and Gertrude Dix Kemper and was a graduate of Lanier High School. Larry attended Auburn University and was a graduate of Mercer University. He served in the United States Marine Corps attaining the rank of Captain.

Larry was a member of Ingleside Baptist Church, the Exchange Club of Macon, and a member and Past President of the Macon Touchdown Club. He was also extremely active at the Georgia Industrial Home, having served as President and the Board of Directors and has served continuously on the board since 1991.

Larry has been in Real Estate since 1968. He was with Hudson & Marshall Realtors as Managing Broker. The last 26 years he has been an associate broker with Coldwell Banker SSK Realtors and was named Realtor of the Year in 1975. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Zach Morton who passed away in 2003.

Survivors include his wife, Kitty King Kemper of Macon; daughters, Carla Kemper Morton (Johnny) and Kathy Kemper Little (Alan); son, King Kemper (Katie); grandchildren, Kemper Morton (Haley), Cole Morton (Gemma), Hannah Little McCommon (Matt), Bryce Little, Olivia Little, Avery Kemper, Cook Kemper, and Amelia Kemper; sister, Betty Kemper Lhotka (Bob).

A visitation for Larry will be held Sunday, August 11, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Snow's Memorial Chapel, 1419 Bass Road, Macon, Georgia 31210 and a Celebration of his Life will occur Monday, August 12, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Ingleside Baptist Church, 834 Wimbish Road, Macon, Georgia 31210. Rev. Johnny Morton will officiate. Burial will be at a later date. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers contributions be made to the Georgia Industrial Children's Home, 4690 N. Mumford Road, Macon 31210.
