Mary Jones Holmes, age 94, of Macon, GA, passed away Thursday, May 26, 2022. A Celebration of Life will be held at Snow’s Memorial Chapel Pio Nono on Tuesday, May 31, 2022 at 2:00 pm with Reverend David Miller officiating. There will be a Visitation for family and friends Monday, May 30 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Snow’s Memorial Chapel on Pio Nono Ave., Macon, GA.
Ms. Holmes was born in Empire, Georgia to the late Rufus and Martha Tripp Jones. She meet her late husband, Thomas Morris Holmes, while working at Dannenburg Department Store. She and Thomas married at Mikado Baptist Church and were married for 64 wonderful years. Ms. Holmes later became a full-time homemaker and devoted herself to her family. She was a long time member of Mikado Baptist Church and also attended Porterfield Baptist Church later in life.
Ms. Holmes is survived by her son, Rufus Holmes and several nieces and nephews.
