Melba "Joanne" Mitchell Schwed

A visitation for Joanne will be held Monday, December 19, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Snow's Memorial Chapel, 1419 Bass Road, Macon, Georgia 31210, followed by a celebration of life at 2:00 PM. Rev Craig Walden will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.

Joanne was born in Macon, the daughter of the late Mary Howard Jones and Horace Lee Jones. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Fred Mitchell and Ed Schwed and her sister, Mary Elizabeth Mayo. Joanne was a homemaker and was a former member of Parkway Baptist. She was a faithful member of the S & S Cafeteria and the Waffle House and she never met a stranger. Granny loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Joanne is survived by her children, Melba Reynolds of Roberta, Freddie Mitchell (Lauren) of Roberta, and Karen Thompson of Forsyth; grandchildren, Sandy Hill (Erik), Brandy Bloodworth (Jeffery), Amanda Doyle, Tyler Mitchell, Thomas McDaniel (Desiree), Weslie McKinney (Matt), Mitchell Lord, Tyler Molton, Kristin Johnson (Bubba), and Kyle Molton (Kaylee); numerous great-grandchildren; sisters, Medra Pitts (Pete) and Sherry Smith "the bonus child".
