

BYRON – Mildred M. Bowman, 81, passed away Thursday, March 23, 2011 at a local hospital. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday at Snow’s Memorial Chapel, Pio Nono Avenue with burial in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Mike Fuller will officiate. The family will meet friends form 3 – 5 p.m., Sunday at the funeral home. While flowers are acceptable, memorial donations may be made to your favorite charity.
Ms. Bowman, daughter of the late J. E. and Flora Kate Monroe McMillan, was born in Andalusia, AL and was a graduate of Pleasant Homes High School, Andalusia. She was a clerk in the aircraft parts department at Mid-South Aircraft and was a member of Midway Baptist Church, Lizella where she was also a member of the Adult Ladies Sunday School Class. Ms. Bowman was a member of the Styling and Profiling Red Hat Society and she was an avid gardener who loved her flowers and “digging in the dirt!” She was the mother of the late Roger Bowman and Steve Bowman and sister to four brothers and a sister who also preceded her in death.
Survivors include her daughter, Dianne Bowman of Byron; her sister, Margaret Wiggins of Andalusia, AL; many special nieces and nephews and her faithful Pomeranian, Benjie.
