

FORSYTH – Mildred “Miss” James Hejl, 87, passed away Tuesday, June 21, 2011 in a local hospital. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday at 1 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church with burial in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. Father Allan J. McDonald will officiate. A Vigil Service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at Snow’s Memorial Chapel, Cherry Street with visitation following. The family suggests that those who wish make memorial contributions to St. Joseph Catholic Church Building Fund, 830 Poplar Street, Macon 31201 or to your charity of choice.
Mrs. Hejl, wife of the late Raymond “Ray” J. Hejl, was a lifelong resident of Macon and was the daughter of the late John W. and Minnie Ray James. She was a graduate of Miller High School and was retired from the personnel department at Robins Air Force Base. She was a past president of the Macon Toastmistresses Club. Mrs. Hejl was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church where she was active in the life of her church. Over the years, she was active in the Parent Association at St. Joseph Elementary School and at Mt. de Sales High School.
Survivors include her daughter, Gwen Roussel of Macon; her son, Joe (Becky) Hejl of Orangeburg, SC; her grandson, J. Logan Hejl of Murrells Inlet, SC; her step grandson, Chris Roussel of Austin, TX and three great grandchildren.
