

Sammy Nell Hautman Culpepper, 87, passed away on Sunday, January 12, 2014. A celebration of her life will be held on Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at Snow’s Memorial Chapel, Cherry Street, in Macon, at 11 a.m. with the Reverend Ron Holland officiating. The family will greet friends from 10 a.m. until service time. Following the Memorial Service, a graveside service will be held at Floral Memory Gardens on Old Pretoria Road in Albany, GA at 3 p.m. with the Reverend Morris Gurr officiating.
Mrs. Nell Culpepper was born in Terrell County, GA on July 13, 1926, to the late David Shealy Hautman and Sammy Cheatham Jones. She graduated from Parrott High School and Albany Vocational School. She worked as a bookkeeper for many years and a real estate agent/broker for over 40 years in Macon. Mrs. Culpepper was a member of Northway Baptist Church and was active in Four Seasons Garden Club and an avid bridge player.
Mrs. Culpepper was predeceased by her first husband of seven months, James Thomas (Buddy) Snow, her husband of thirty-three years, Lee Roy Culpepper, Jr., one brother and four sisters. She is survived by her children, Brenda Griffin (Bunky), Lee Culpepper (Sherry) and Joy Crawford (Stan); 7 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild; sister, Charlie Ruth Hitson of Oxford, GA and brother D. S. Hautman of Albany, GA.
