

MACON - Lt. Col. O. Frank Sanders, USAF (Ret), 65, passed away on Sunday, April 25, 2010. Funeral services and a celebration of his life will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Lawrence Drive Baptist Church with burial in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens with full Military Honors. The Rev. Brad Marchman and the Rev. Joe McDaniel will officiate. The family will meet friends from 6 – 8 p.m. Tuesday at Snow’s Memorial Chapel, Pio Nono Avenue. While flowers are accepted, the family suggests those who wish may make memorial contributions to Gideon’s International West Camp, P. O. Box 5453, Macon, GA 31208.
Mr. Sanders, a native of Macon, was preceded in death by his father, Onus Franklin Sanders, Sr. He was a civil engineer earning his Bachelor’s Degree from Auburn University and his Master’s Degree from Troy State University. Mr. Sanders served with the U. S. Air Force retiring after twenty-two years. He then worked as Director of Engineering with the Macon Water Authority and retired after sixteen years.
Mr. Sanders was a devoted Christian serving as Deacon and Sunday School Teacher at Lawrence Drive Baptist Church where he was active in the life of his church. He was serving as president of the Macon-West Camp of Gideon’s International Ministry and had been a member since 1987.
Mr. Sanders was a devoted Christian, husband, father, grandfather and is survived by his loyal wife of 43 years, Louise F. Sanders of Macon; two adored daughters, Laura Miller (Cash) of Austin, TX and Christie Jensen (Jeffrey) of Byron; his mother, Harriette Sanders of Warner Robins; his much loved grandchildren, Brandon and Stephanie Fortson of Byron, Mason and Avery Miller of Austin, TX, and JT and Jamieson Jensen of Athens; his sister, Beverly Mangrum of Warner Robins; his brother, Wayne Sanders (Pam) of Macon and a number of nieces and nephews.
Snow’s Memorial Chapel Funeral and Cremation Services, Pio Nono Avenue has charge of arrangements.
