Patsy Whitmire Bowers

MACON - Patsy Whitmire Bowers, 75, passed away Thursday, January 12, 2012 at a local nursing care facility. Memorial services will be held at 3P.M., Sunday at Forest Hills United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jimmy Towson officiating. Burial will be private. The family will meet friends from 6:00 to 7:30 P.M., Saturday at Snow's Memorial Chapel, Cherry Street. The family suggests that those who wish make memorial contributions to the Shepherd Center, 2020 Peachtree Road, NW, Atlanta, GA 30309-1465 or to Forest Hills United Methodist Church, 1217 Forest Hill Road, Macon, GA 31210.

Mrs. Bowers, daughter of the late James Judson Whitmire and Lena Althea Slayton Whitmire, was born in Joanna, SC. Living in Macon a number of years, she was an accountant with Sonoco Products and was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Hartsville and of Clinton, SC. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Jeffery T. Stephens.

Survivors include her husband, William P. "Bill" Bowers of Macon; her daughter, Susan Bowers (Steve) Goins of Macon; her grandchildren, Whitney B. Stephens and Sterling Blankenship of Macon; her great granddaughter, Hailey Stephens of Macon; her siblings, Clyde (Myra) Whitmire of Gaffney, SC, Copeland (Diana) Whitmire of Clinton, SC, Fredrick (Sue) Whitmire of Gray Court, SC and Sara (Ansel) Gilliam of Buffalo, SC, and several nieces and nephews.
