Robert "Bob" Edward Schorr, Sr.

Bob was born on September 4, 1949, in Columbus, Ohio, to Margaret McMichael and Edward D. “Taps” Schorr, Jr. He graduated from Grandview Heights High School in Columbus before earning his degree in Journalism from Kent State University.

Bob and his wife, Robin Pond Schorr, were married for 44 wonderful years. Together they raised two sons, Robert E. Schorr, Jr. “Bobby” (Elizabeth) and William P. Schorr “Will” (Claire), and were blessed with five grandchildren: Robert III, Marilyn, Buckingham, Renner, and Ann. He is also survived by a loving extended family, including his sister Gayle Barnes of Columbus; cousins Tim Murphy (Sue) and Meg Murphy, also of Columbus; and numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

Bob had a successful career in advertising and marketing, manufacturing, and management. He was a strategic problem solver, a skilled inventor, and a talented woodworker. Later in life, one of his greatest joys was talking with his children and their spouses about their careers and entrepreneurial ventures.

Outside of work, his love for the water was evident in the summers he spent in the Les Cheneaux Islands in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, where he taught his children to ski, fish, explore, and even bathe in the clear waters of Lake Huron.

Friends and family will gather to celebrate Bob’s life on Thursday, January 16th, at 2:00 p.m. at Snow's Memorial Chapel on Bass Road with visitation following. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Vineville United Methodist Church or Stratford Academy in Macon, Georgia.

Bob’s warmth, wisdom, and unwavering love will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. His humor, storytelling, singing, and famously waterproof hair will be cherished memories for all who had the privilege of knowing him.
