JEFFERSON - Rosalie Sanford Caraker, 83, formerly of Macon, passed away Thursday, October 6, 2011 at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday at Snow’s Memorial Chapel, Cherry Street with burial in Riverside Cemetery, Main Gate. The Rev. Larry Partain will officiate. The family will meet friends from 12:30 p.m. to service time on Saturday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Caraker, wife of the late Thomas L. Caraker, was born in Laurens County the daughter of the late William Ausie Sanford and Kizzie Hendrix Sanford. She lived in Macon a number of years before moving to Jefferson and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Mrs. Caraker was a volunteer with Senior Friends at Coliseum Medical Center, was active in Relay for Life and taught dance.
Survivors include her great nieces, Gina (Coty) Grimes of Hoschton, Donna (Harold) Richland of Byron and Debbie (Billy) Day of Bolingbroke; her niece, Betty Tarter of Winder and several other nieces and nephews.
