Steven Dean Sanford

Steven Dean Sanford, 62, died Friday, March 13, 2015 surrounded by his family. A Celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2015 at Liberty United Methodist Church at 11:00 AM. Reverend Wayne Anthony and Dan Bullard IV will officiate. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Heartland Hospice 3312 Northside Drive, Macon, GA 31210 or the Methodist Children’s Home, P.O. Box 2525 Macon, GA 31203.

Mr. Sanford was born in Champaign, IL to the late Luther Wesley and Grace Rosalie Sanford Mathews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Michael Mathews; and sister Mona Garner. He was a member of Liberty United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Booster Club as well as the Chain Gang for football team at Rutland High School. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.

He is survived by his wife, Frances Sanford; four children, Selina (Casey) Sapp, Corinne (Mike) Denney, Ashley Sanford, and Preston Sanford; sisters, Nona Torres and Marcy Folks; brother, Cary Mathews; five grandchildren and a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins as well as aunts and uncles.
