

Thelma Moore Chesnutt, 88, passed away at her residence on Sunday, January 10, 2016. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, January 13 at 11 a.m. at Northminster Presbyterian with the Rev. John Kinser officiating. The family will greet friends at 10 a.m. at the church. Thelma was born in Jones County, Georgia to the late Samuel Isaac and Kitty Bonner Moore. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard M. Chesnutt. Thelma was a homemaker and an expert seamstress. She was a founding member of Northminster Presbyterian Church and she worked at Wesleyan College in the Foreign Language Lab. Thelma was involved in the PTA, serving as President, in the Atlanta Public School system.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children; Peggy (John) Daniel of Macon and Jerry Chesnutt of Tallahassee, Florida; five grandchildren, Jessica Piro, Moriah Lavender, Noah Daniel, Mackenzie Chesnutt and Elle Chesnutt; three great-grandchildren, Sophia Schnee, Art Lavender and Sam Lavender; sister, Laverne Downs of Milledgeville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
