
MACON – Thomas William Glasgow, Sr., 91, died Monday, October 18, 2010 in a local hospital. A celebration of his life will be held from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Friday at Carlyle Place. Burial will be held at a later date in Scottdale, PA. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Museum of Aviation, Highway 247 & Russell Parkway, Warner Robins, GA 31088 or to the Salvation Army, 1955 Broadway, Macon, GA 31206.
Mr. Glasgow, son of the late Walter H. Glasgow and Edna Seeman Glasgow, was born in Scottdale, PA and was a graduate of California University of Pennsylvania. He was retired as Lieutenant Colonial in the U. S. Air Force serving with the U. S. Army Air Corps during World War II flying P-40 and P-51 aircraft in the 14th Air Force Flying Tigers in China, Burma and India. Subsequently, Mr. Glasgow taught Industrial Arts and he and his wife raised their family in western Pennsylvania. Mr. and Mrs. Glasgow moved to Macon in 2004 and were members of Northminster Presbyterian Church. Mr. Glasgow loved people and participating in the many activities at Carlyle Place.
Survivors include his wife, Joan M. Glasgow of Macon; his children, Thomas William Glasgow, Jr. (Linda) of Asheville, NC and Malcolm M. Glasgow (Maggie) of Gahanna, OH and his granddaughter, Kelly Katherine Glasgow of Dallas, TX.
