Virginia H Glidewell

Virginia Butts Glidewell, 88, passed away Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at a local hospital. Funeral services and a celebration of her life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday at Snow’s Memorial Chapel, Pio Nono with burial in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Robert Webb will officiate. The family will meet friends from 1:00 p.m. to service time on Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Community Chapel Building Fund, 5407 Columbus Road, Macon, GA 31220.

Mrs. Glidewell, daughter of the late Joseph Ross and Willie Pearl Curry Herringdine, was born in Milledgeville. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Robert L. Butts, Jr. and Louis Ross Glidewell. Mrs. Glidewell was a service representative retired from Prudential Insurance Company. She was a member and Past Queen of The Daughters of the Nile Temple #98 in 1979. Mrs. Glidewell was a member of Calvary Community Chapel. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt who dearly loved her family. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Robert Thomas Butts.

Survivors include her son, Ron (Junie) Butts, Lt Col. USAF (Ret); her grandson, Stuart Lee Butts; her sisters, Jackie Brantley and Betty Etheridge and a number of nieces and nephews.
