

LIZELLA – Walter Raymond Sark, 89, entered his Heavenly Home on Thursday, December 29, 2011. Funeral services and a celebration of his life will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, December 31st at Macon Evangelistic Church with burial in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Terry Sark, the Rev. Gary Berrier and the Rev. William Fambro will officiate. The family will meet friends from 6- 8 p.m., Friday at Snow’s Memorial Chapel, Pio Nono Avenue and may be contacted at the residence of Kevin and Vicki Sark. While flowers are acceptable, those who wish, may make memorial contributions to Macon Evangelistic Church, 4500 Chapel Hill Road, Macon 31206.
Mr. Sark, son of the late Oliver Jasper Sark and Alta Brock Sark, was born in Millersburg, IN and served with the U. S. Army during World War II. He was retired from the IFF Electronic Division of Robins Air Force Base and for thirty-seven years, served as Baseball Umpire for high school, college and recreational team play. Mr. Sark was a member of Macon Evangelistic Church for sixty years where he served as Deacon on the Church Board, was a former Church Treasurer and for thirty-six years was a part of the “He Touched Me” Passion Play. He had also served as Secretary of the Southeastern Evangelistic Association. Mr. Sark was preceded in death by three grandchildren and a great grandchild.
Mr. Sark is survived by the family he treasured, his wife of sixty-three years, Voncile Andrews Sark of Lizella; his children, Steve (Lisa) Sark of Macon, Terry (Annelle) Sark of Ivey, Kevin (Vicki) Sark of Macon and Debbie (Paul) Major of Hickory, NC; nine grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; his sister, Opal Vance of Goshen, IN.
