Born in Macon, he was the son of the late Loyd Woodrow George and Elsie Louise Greene Hobbs. He was a retired plumber from Greene Plumbing Company. He was preceded in death by a son, Tony George.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Rachael George, Children, Melody McPherson, Shelley George, and Morgan Powers. Grandchildren, Joshua Lifsey, Cory Lifsey, and Hunter Poole; and the three great grandchildren he raised since birth and loved him as their PaPa, Stella Claxton, Bayleigh Claxton and Inalla George; Sister, Bobbie Bray. Brother, Mike George.
