

Zane Gray Burns, 77, passed away Sunday in a local hospital. Funeral services and a celebration of his life will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday at Lawrence Drive Baptist Church with burial in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Brad Marchman and the Rev. Phil Bryant will officiate. The family will meet friends from 6 – 8 p.m., Wednesday at Snow’s Memorial Chapel, Pio Nono. They ask that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Mission Impact Program, Lawrence Drive Baptist Church, 5774 School Road, Macon 31216.
Mr. Burns, son of the late Ernest Randolph and Cleo Madeline Hall Burns, was a native of Fairlee, WV. He served with the U. S. Air Force and was retired from Robins Air Force Base. Mr. Burns was the owner of South Macon Heating and Air and had always loved softball, fishing and hunting. He was a Charter Member of Lawrence Drive Baptist Church where he taught in the Sunday School.
Survivors include his wife of fifty-six years, Carolyn J. Burns of Macon; his daughters, Carolyn Ronell (Terry) Countryman and Zana Marie (Kevin) Dougherty, all of Macon; his beloved grandchildren, Robert Kyle Dougherty and Kaylynn Marie Dougherty; one brother; one sister and numerous nieces and nephews.
