

Albert Joseph Alletzhauser passed away peacefully on December 18, 2015. He was born July 11, 1933, in Auburn NY to Albert William and Mary (Sliwinski) Alletzhauser, and grew up in Rochester NY. After high school, Al enlisted in the Air Force in 1951 and was stationed in France. After leaving the service, he first worked for Simplex Time Recorder Company, owned a NAPA store, worked for DRS Fermont in Bridgeport CT, and then returned to and retired from Simplex.
Al married the love of his life, Sydney Louise (Best), March 1, 1958. They moved to Madison in 1964 and raised five children. Al was active with Pack 495 and Boy Scout Troop 494 and was a member of the North Madison Volunteer Fire Company. Al and Syd were inseparable until her death in 2009. Nothing made them happier than a day filled with coffee, long car rides to visit family or go antiquing, their cats, and UConn basketball.
Albert is survived by four of his children: Kurt, Amy, Eric (Heather) and Judith (Eric) Brewer; daughter-in-law Anne; grandchildren: Arianna, Max, Bailey, Emily, Chloe, EJ, Ella, Derek, Lucy and Kaleb; and his sister, Virginia (Sam) Noto. He was predeceased by his oldest son, Albert, and his first wife, Karol Kilbourn.
A funeral mass will be held at 9:00AM on Tuesday, December 22nd, at St. Margaret Roman Catholic Church in Madison CT. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the North Madison Volunteer Fire Company, 864 Opening Hill Rd, Madison CT, or to Connecticut Hospice, 100 Double Beach Road, Branford CT.
