

Arthur George (Chip)Williams III died June 30th, on his 64th birthday after a brief illness. He leaves behind his wife of 30 years, Cindy, and his children Lance and Marisa Abbott, along with his loving grandchildren Mac, Matthew, Nicky, Ethan, Lauren, Katherine, Paige, and Danielle. In addition to his sister, Romy du Jong, he will be missed by many loyal friends, golfing buddies, and fellow Yankee fans.
Chip graduated from St. Thomas More School and attended Morris Harvey College. He served proudly in the Navy after which he embarked on a sales/merchandising career with Camps Market, P & G, Better Val-U, and Acosta Sales. An avid sports participant, he served on various boards of the Madison Country Club and was a founding member of the Dawn Patrol.
He was predeceased by his parents Eva Glass Williams and the Honorable Judge Arthur George Williams, Jr., and grandparents, Maude and Arthur George Williams, Sr., who owned and ran the Dolly Madison Inn in the 1950’s.
No visiting hours are planned but a memorial service will take place later this summer. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Special Olympics, a cause near and dear to his heart and for which he enjoyed raising money. The Swan Funeral Home are in charge of arrangements.
