Gloria Cappelli

She was born April 8, 1925, the daughter of the late Antonio and Mary Neve Cappelli. She graduated from Proctor High School, she worked as an executive secretary at Rhodes Hospital, the Utica Department of Public Works, as well as BOCES of Oneida County for 10 years. Gloria was an avid bridge player and a vibrant member of the Utica Curling Club for over 50 years. She was also the recording secretary of the Opti-Mrs. Club, an active golfer, and crossword enthusiast. Gloria was always the life of the party, who loved dancing and Frank Sinatra.

Gloria married her beloved husband, Ambrose on September 6, 1948 who predeceased her on September 20, 1995. They had three children: Amber, Gary and Terri. She is survived by her two daughters Amber Monteith and her husband Jerome of Madison, CT and Terri Sutkowski and her husband Larry of Delmar, NY. Her son Gary passed away June 2012. Gloria is survived by nine grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

There will be a Memorial Mass at St. John the Evangelist Church, New Hartford at 10 AM on Friday, August 22, 2014 to celebrate Gloria's life. Arrangements are with the Dimbleby, Friedel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral Home, New Hartford.
