Richard O Jones

Richard Osborn Jones, 76, of Madison, passed away on November 14, 2011 at Yale New Haven Hospital. Beloved husband of Eleanor (Faulkner) Jones. Dick was born in Melrose, MA on May 24, 1935 to the late Sheldon and Hannah (Andrews) Jones.

Dick was a U.S. Marine serving during the Lebanese Conflict. He worked for Yale University as Director of Support Services from 1966 to 1975 and recently retired after 25 years as owner and operator of Terra Nova Enterprises, a food ingredient distribution company. Dick was an active member of his Yale University Class of 1957 and an avid sports fan particularly of Yale Football and Hockey. In addition to his love for his family, Dick cherished being a Marine, and was very active in the Madison American Legion Honor Guard.

Along with his wife, he is survived by his three sons: Richard O. Jones Jr. of FL., Stephen F. Jones and his wife Diane of TX., and Douglas A. Jones and his wife Jaime of RI and one brother Sheldon A. Jones and his wife Priscilla of NH. Dick is also survived by five grandchildren, Christopher, Catharine, Ryan, Connor and Dillan.

Memorial services will be held at the Madison Congregational Church at 11am on Tuesday, November 22, with full Military Honors following the service. A private interment will be at West Cemetery.
