Ham, Billy W. Age 66 June 19, 2013 Beloved husband of Flexcia “Phyllis”, Loving step-father of Wendy Sowiecki, Gerald Sowiecki, and Kenneth (Jennifer) Sowiecki. Dear grandfather of six. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arlie and Evelyn Ham and his sister, Barbara Powers. Visitation Monday 3-8p.m. and Tuesday 10:30a.m. until time of funeral service11a.m. at Edward Swanson and Son Funeral Home, 30351 Dequindre (S. of 13 Mi. Rd.) Madison Heights.
For more than forty years Billy was a screen printer for the Detroit News and Pic Davis. For the last twenty years he owned and operated Wayne Lawn Service, serving southern Oakland County. He has organized the Hamstock Jamboree over the last ten years which is a fund raiser supporting the Muscular Dystrophy drive. It has incorporated the traditional backyard barbecue with music, games, and friendship supporting the MDA. Billy was a talented musician, guitarist, and songwriter who co-wrote songs for several country music artists. He was a true friend and companion. He was also a wonderful story teller who could always be seen smiling and laughing.
