Claude proudly served in the United States Army from 1968-1970, with a tour in Vietnam, and was an advocate for all veterans. He started his career in tool and die and later became a master tool maker. With his love for the outdoors, he was active in Boy Scouts for 20+ years. But if you asked him he was a Boy Scout and troop leader for life. Along with that, he was an avid hunter, fisherman, gardener, and he loved camping with his family. If it took place outside, he was probably doing it.
Claude was also a proud Native American. Participating in many Powwows and events across many states, educating others on Native history and practices. He put time and dedication into the National Center for Great Lakes Native American Culture. (NCGLNAC)
He loved his sons, grandchildren, and great- grandchildren more than anything. Always making sure their sweet tooth was satisfied and that they had enough voicemails from him to record an entire movie.
There is a hole in the universe that won’t ever be filled again, but we are grateful and honored to have been a part of his life.
Claude was a beloved father to Scott (Janet) Miller, Bryan (Alicia) Miller, and the late Craig Miller; cherished grandfather to Remington, Hudson, Ethan, and Samantha (Jon); loving great-grandfather to Conrad and Eleanor.
