

Herbert Wayne Wilson of Madison Heights, MI, passed on April 20, 2026, at the age of 80. He was born on April 4, 1946, in Nashville, Tennessee. He was preceded in death by his mother, Pearl W. Hunt. Wayne is survived by Betty Wilson, his loving wife of 43 years; sisters Carol (Charlie) Dorris and Susan (Butch) Sparks; nephews, David (Tami) Hunt, Louis Buti, Travis (Kenya) Sparks, Jack (Candace) Brunner, and Ben (Elizabeth) Trad; nieces Tammy (Sammy) Myers, Stacey (Rick) Bagwell, Tara (Derrick) Bland, and Naomi (Connor) Trad as well as several great nephews and nieces and many cousins.
Wayne retired from the Oakland County Water and Sewer Department as a supervisor of flow monitoring. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing poker with his friends. When Wayne retired, he took up a new hobby in woodworking. He was a very talented woodworker and made many special items for family and friends.
Wayne was caring, compassionate, and very generous, always putting others' needs before his own. He was a positive influence on everyone he met and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
