

Linda Okragleski, age 99, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 4, 2026. She was born December 27, 1926, in Detroit, Michigan to parents Michael and Stella Shaheen (dec). She was the oldest of 6. She is predeceased by her brothers Michael, Alfred, and Raymond, survived by her brother Daniel and sister Anna Mae. She was baptized at St. Maron Maronite Catholic Church. Mom attended Marygrove College, where she studied dietary science.
Linda Shaheen married Edward Okragleski on September 4, 1950, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. They had 6 children, Edward, Robert (dec), James (dec), John, Michael, and Marianne. Edward and Linda have 13 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren. Ed and Linda lived in their first house in Hazel Park, Michigan, for almost 10 years. In December 1960, they moved to their house in Warren, Michigan, for the next 48 years. Their final 18 years were spent in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Linda was very active in the community and the church. She was a Helping Hand mother and taught remedial reading at the local elementary school.
She also taught CCD and led the rosary at St. Louise de Marillac for many years. In her later years, she aided in numerous activities at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Scottsdale, Arizona. These included helping with funerals, stuffing weekly bulletins, a door greeter, and spent many hours in the adoration chapel.
Linda was also an avid golfer and traveled to all 50 states and almost all the provinces in Canada.
Linda was deeply loved by all who knew her and will be deeply missed. We will especially miss her smile, that lit up the room, her kisses, and hearing her say "I Love You".

A visitation will be held on February 15, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm with a Rosary to be prayed at 6:00 PM at Edward Swanson & Son Funeral Home, located at 30351 Dequindre Road, Madison Heights, MI 48071.
The funeral mass is scheduled for February 16, 2026, at 10:00 am at St Louise de Marillac Catholic Church, 2500 12 Mile Rd, Warren, MI 48092.
Immediately following the funeral mass, a committal service will follow at White Chapel Memorial Park Cemetery, 621 W Long Lake Rd, Troy, MI 48098.
