Rob lived life to the fullest. He excelled in everything he attempted. To self-teaching himself the drums, to being certified as a professional Pyrotech, opening his own business Merlin Pyrotechnics and putting on fireworks shows across America. He got just about every certificate available for his career in IT. He was so hyper, he couldn't sit in a classroom, so he taught himself these things. 
He collected beer cans and traveled around the country to beer can shows. He sold his collection for thousands to buy a house. 
I remember praying for him from early childhood for a gift. I asked God to give him a gift, something he could excel in..I begged God, as school was so difficult for him and he was bullied....
One day I saw a snare drum at a garage sale for $15. I took it in to be restrung and when I gave it to him, he came alive. He beat his heart out on that drum. The next day we bought his first drum set and a star was born. God answered my prayer. 
I pray now that he is playing his drums for the Lord in Heaven.
We will always love you and be proud of you, dear son, You did it your way.

Rob was a kind and funny man. I knew him from childhood when he was a drummer in the ole gang's band "Stonehenge".

He was always upbeat and funny. He used to let me help him set up his drums when they played at events. I will always remember his kindness.

So sorry to hear your son Robert has & gone to Heaven at only 55 years old. Much too soon, but the Lord must have felt his job here on earth had been completed. 
As a parent myself, I know how unbelievable it must be to have your child die before you. We are not raised to ever contemplate that this would happen! My prayers & condolences are for both of you & your family to have faith & understanding of God’s plan for why he has gone so soon.   
God Bless you both & your family & give you strength to continue living in his absence. Please remember he will always be with you in your heart & memories & never forgotten.

I had the privilege of just recently hiring Robert for a new position with our company. We did to not get to know him well however he was energic and excited about his new role and opportunity.  We put him through a lengthy interviewing process,  he was very impressive and came off as a really great guy.  We looked forward to getting to know him and enabling him to pursue his passion for Technology.  We are very saddened to hear of his passing and will keep his family in our thoughts and prayers. 

I am deeply sorry for your loss.  Rob and I met in Michigan in an AOL chatroom and instantly became friends.  He was one of the first people I met in the "online world."  In 1998 Rob helped me and my fiance move to Austin, Texas.  Months later, he moved to Austin and slept on our couch for a few months.  He even got an IT job at the company I was working for.  After I got married, we lost touch - but I got back in touch with him when my daughter was born in 2002. 

Although our correspondence was mostly over Facebook Messenger and phone calls, Rob remained one of my favorite friends.  I reached out to him a couple of months ago to find out how he was doing.  It took him a while to respond and when he did, he revealed that he was in the hospital.  We were chatting for days over Messenger, and then his messages suddenly stopped.

I am deeply saddened by his passing.  He had such a strong sometimes overbearing personality and at the same time could melt your heart with his sweet smile.

Rob was my cousin. While we weren't really close, I'd like to share a couple of things about Rob. Rob excelled at everything he chose to do. He was an IT professional, he set up fireworks professionally for many years, he was an exceptional musician (drums), he was passionate about cooking (some of the pictures of his steaks looked straight out of a magazine). Rob had very firm beliefs politically that he could always back up with words. He lived life on his terms and made the most of it. He packed a lot in his brief 55 years here. I know you're up there Rob, put in a good word for me, I need all the help I can get. You will be missed, cousin.
