Robert F. Taylor age 81, of Royal Oak passed away October 30, 2019. Loving father of William (Beth), David (Norma) and Sandy (Paul) Eaves; dear grandfather of 4 and great grandfather 5. Robert is predeceased by parents Edward and Evelyn as well as brothers Edward and Ronald.
Robert graduated from Royal Oak High School in 1956, after he attended Cass Tech Vocational School and graduated as a sheet metal worker. He retired from General Motors after 34 years as a Senior Experimental Purchasing Agent. Robert started as an apprentice in 1956 as a metal model maker. He worked for 27 years with prototypes and cars of the future. From there he worked his way up from Assistant Foreman and Foreman. His favorite job was working on the 1957 Chevy as well as the Corvette.
Robert was an active member of Prince of Glory Luther Church for 25 years. He has been a member of Pine Hunt Club since March of 1973 and has been a long time member of the Chevrolet Engineering Retirees Club.
Robert enjoyed Hunting, exercise and the great outdoors. Once he thought he saw a gat in the woods, it turned out to be an albino deer. His biggest fishing catch was a 4'6 Red Horse Up North in the Ausable River. He enjoyed drag racing from 1956-1962 and Color me Gone from 1967-1973.
