Born November 8, 1942, in Bedford Co., he was a son of the late Corbett and Dorothy Lawhorne Fitzgerald. He was also preceded in death by two sons, Joseph Fitzgerald, and Daniel Fitzgerald.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children, Barry Fitzgerald Jr., Regina Nuckles, Wallace Fitzgerald, and Jonathan Adams, two sisters, one brother, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.
A Memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, August 6, 2012, at Whitten Monelison Chapel, by the Pastor Frank Morris. The family will receive friends after the service and at other times at the residence.
