Born on October 3, 1931, she was the daughter of the late William Crawford Clemmer and Dollie Goodbar Clemmer. Clemmer, Nathalie McCulloch, Phillip Clemmer, and Patricia Hylton.
Bernice was a longtime member of Oxford Presbyterian Church in Lexington, Virginia. She had a deep love for reading and rarely missed a day with her newspaper, which she faithfully read from front to back. She also enjoyed puzzles and word searches. Bernice loved spending time at the beach. Family meant everything to her, and she shared a particularly close bond with her sisters. Later in life, they lived at Royal Gardens, where they cherished the time they spent together and enjoyed taking trips as sisters.
She is survived by her daughter, Karla Campbell Swisher (J.R.); her grandson, Scott Swisher (Emily), her great-granddaughter, Reagan Swisher; and her son-in-law, Randy Reed.
