Charles was preceded in death by his father, Ernest Morris; brothers, James Morris and Randy Morris, and sisters, Elizabeth Brown and Linda Perkins. Charles was born on October 26, 1964 in Charlottesville, Virginia. As a young boy, Charles enjoyed being outside, spending time with his siblings, and playing football. He was a hard worker his entire life, and he truly fit the title of “Jack of All Trades”. In addition to being able to fix anything that he encountered he also enjoyed serving in the Army, working on the family farm, and most recently working at Graphic Packaging International, where he was a loyal employee for 14 years. Charles was warmly relational, knew no strangers, and would lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He always enjoyed a great laugh, loved the sound of his grandchildren laughing and playing in the yard, had a wonderful sense of humor, and he was known for his ability to be the voice of reason. He attended Randolph Memorial Baptist Church, and he enjoyed watching reality tv shows, planting his garden, listening to country music, traveling to Tennessee, and watching the Dallas Cowboys and Atlanta Braves play. In addition to his many talents and passions, what he enjoyed most was spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren. When asked what he was most proud of he would quickly respond “ my grandkids”, and he found true pleasure in watching them grow up. The family would like to thank all of the staff at Pearson Cancer Center, Dr. McNeil, and the staff of Centra Hospice for the care and compassion they provided. A celebration of Charles’s life will be held on Monday, April 12, 2021 at 7pm at Randolph Memorial Baptist Church located in Madison Heights. The family will receive friends prior to this celebration on Monday, April 12, 2021 from 6 until 7pm at Randolph Memorial Baptist Church.
