Born on May 16, 1945 in Rockbridge County, she was the daughter of the late Walter Bruce and Lillian Dunn Chittum. Charlotte was a caregiver and homemaker who enjoyed the Goodwill stores, yard sales, doing puzzles and co-ordinating her family’s reunion. She was always looking out for her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her wonderful daughter, Bonnie (her best friend); brothers, Bill, Earl, Billy, and Buzzy Chittum; and sisters, Minnie, Susie, and June.
She is survived by her wonderful husband of 57 years, Ralph Stinnett; a wonderful son, Wayne Stinnett and wife Angela of Roanoke; adopted children, Sambo (Sandy) and Kathy (Clarence); three wonderful grandchildren, Brandon, Taylor and Trae Stinnett; three great grandchildren, Kira, Laila, and Bruce Stinnett; four sisters, Cora (friend Bill), Doris Jean (Johnny), Rine, and Lynnie; a brother, Kenny (Mary); and a whole lot of wonderful nieces, nephews, other family member and friends.
The family would like to thank her sister, Lynnie, for all of her time and care of Charlotte this last month as well as Centra Hospice for all of their nurses whom visited the home.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm on Friday, May 17, 2019 at Whitten Monelison Chapel.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 am on Saturday, May 18, 2019 at Smyrna United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Gary Moore officiating.
