She was born in Portsmouth, February 8, 1957, the daughter of Doris Bradley Campbell of Lynchburg and the late Clarence W. “Pop” Bryant. Denise graduated from Nelson County High School in 1975. She was named “Miss Nelson Teen” in 1974. Denise loved to cook and have her family around and was a member of Union Christian Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter and sister.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband of 43 years, Doug Fitzgerald; her son, Justin Fitzgerald; her daughter, Katie Fitzgerald Powell and her husband Paul; two grandchildren, Charlotte Monroe Powell and Dylan Presley Powell; two sisters, Wanda B. Hurst and Cindy B. Treadway and her husband Edward and one brother, Greg N. Bryant and his wife Diane.
A memorial service celebrating her life will be announced at a later date.
