Born August 24, 1945, in Lynchburg, he was the son of the late Charles Henry Lawhorne and Eleanor Brooks Lawhorne. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Sam and Leonard Lawhorne.
Mr. Lawhorne was retired from Centra Health and attended Living Water Ministries.
Survivors include his daughter, Monica Lynn Chavis and husband Leonard, of Lynchburg; his son, Donald W. “D.W.” Lawhorne Jr. and wife Liz, of Bedford; a sister, Bonnie L. Shelton and husband Garry, of Lynchburg; a brother, Mack Almond and wife Barbara, of Lynchburg; sister-in-law, Beulah Lawhorne, of Lynchburg; three grandchildren, Alyssa and Allison Chavis, and Chase Lawhorne, numerous nieces nephews,
other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends from 5-8:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 2, 2011, at Whitten Timberlake Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Amherst or Lynchburg Humane Societies.
