

She was born June 13, 1919 at Snowden in Amherst County. She was the daughter of Harry Wood and Julia Bowles Wood. She is preceded in death by her husband of 62 years Eldridge Lee Cheatham, and one son Dennis Wayne Cheatham.
She is survived by one son Raymond Ray Cheatham and his wife Dorris Jean Floyd Cheatham, six grandsons: James, Paul (Tammy), Mark (Angela), David (Danelle), Michael (Michele), and Wayne Robertson, fourteen Great-Grandchildren: Kristina, Taylor, Amethyst Smith, Noah, Ashley, Dimitri, Mikala, Travar, Candace, Josh, Michael, Dakota, Alexis, and Bailey Robertson, one Great-Great Grandchild: Skyy Reynolds. She had a number of nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her sisters: Virginia Hartbarger, Mary Mitchell, and Ida Dawson, and her brothers: Harry Jr., William, Leslie, and James (Pete).
Estelle accepted Christ as her Lord & Savior in 1937 and joined Corner Stone Baptist Church in Naola. She was very active in her church, and she was always there unless she was sick or there was a death.
The funeral service will be conducted at Corner Stone Baptist Church by Pastor Peyton Fitzgerald and grandson Mark Cheatham at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 5, 2014. Burial will follow in the Cheatham Family Cemetery in Naola.
The family will receive friends from 6:00pm to 8:00 p.m. today, Tuesday, November 4, 2014 at Whitten Monelison Chapel.
