

He was born on October 12, 1928 in Lynchburg, son of the late Edward William Freeman, Sr. and Sallie Fulcher Freeman.
Edward was preceded in death by a son, Mac Christian Freeman; a grandson, Jeremy Phillips; and a great granddaughter, Mckenna May.
He was a World War II Army veteran and a devoted member of Oakdale Baptist Church as well as being a beekeeper, rabbit hunter, and loved going fishing with his family at the Outer Banks. His great passion in life were his grandchildren all of whom he nicknamed.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by six children, Victor E. Freeman, Sr. and wife Barbara, William E. Tomlin and wife Selby, Harold L. Tomlin, Deborah F. Phillips and husband Arnold, Edwin Anthony Freeman and wife Ava, Ramona F. May and husband David as well as several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life, with casual dress, will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, February 25, 2017 at Oakdale Baptist Church with Pastor Terry Wornstaff officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Oakdale Baptist Church, 1154 Brightwell Mill Road, Madison Heights, VA 24572.
