Born in Lynchburg, November 9, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Arthur Raymond Kirby and Hazel Peters Kirby. Eleanor was a hairdresser for a number of years and was a member of Thomas Road Baptist Church. Throughout the years, her family was her most important priority; she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother.
In addition to her husband and parents, her son, Barry Harper; her granddaughter, Jennifer H. Johnson and her half-brother, Calvin Pickering, preceded her in death.
She is survived by her daughter, Terri Ann Burton and her husband Walter of Yorktown; her son, David L. Harper and his wife Teresa of Forest; three grandchildren, John R. Wolhfert, James G. Wolhfert and Jamie L. Harper; nine great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren, and her two special dogs, Sugar & Dixie.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 31, 2022 at Fort Hill Memorial Park with Pastor Jonathan Falwell officiating.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, October 30, 2022 at Whitten Monelison Chapel.
