

Born Oct. 25, 1953, in Farmville, she was the daughter of the late William Dillon Cunningham. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Jerry Dillon Cunningham.
Ann graduated from Appomattox County High School and received her bachelor's degree in nursing from Liberty University. She loved her career as a nurse and worked for many years in the Emergency Department at Lynchburg General Hospital before moving to New York, where she lived and worked as a nurse at Winthrop University Hospital. Ann dearly loved all of her co-workers and considered them her "family." She was a member of Sandy Bottom Christian Church.
She loved to cook (especially Italian-style meals), crochet and craft. She enjoyed visiting her family in Virginia, spending time with her grandson, Dillon, and vacationing in Nags Head with her family. She was an animal lover. Ann was a special woman who was loved by so many people. She was a devoted daughter, mother, grandmother and friend. She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her.
Survivors include her mother, Hallie Cunningham, of Appomattox; three children, Matthew Faulconer and wife, Catherine, of Lynchburg, Lindsay Faulconer-Allgood and husband, Daniel, of Madison Heights, and Mary Beth Faulconer, of Lynchburg; grandson, Dillon Faulconer, whom she adored; many aunts, uncles and cousins in Virginia; a large family of in-laws in New York; and many dear friends in Virginia and New York.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday, March 6, 2010, at Whitten Monelison Chapel and at other times at the residence of her daughter, Lindsay. A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Sunday, March 7, 2010, at Whitten Monelison Chapel by the Rev. Jim Freeman. Interment will follow in Spring Creek Baptist church Cemetery.
