Was so sorry to hear about Ernest.  We always enjoyed his visits to Dr. Leonard's office.  He was always joking and happy--usually getting ready to go on his train ride.  He will be missed.  God bless your family at this time.

Frankie and I worked together on the RR many years. Enjoyed it. Never had anything but good work relations with him. My condolances to his family. Rest in peace my friend. You are with the Master conductor.

I worked with Frankie for many years on the railroad, several times on the same regular assignment for extended periods.  I wasn't any different than my co-workers in that I was always glad to work with him, because Frankie had the qualities that gave a conductor peace of mind.  He was experienced and steady, he knew the rules and ran a solid train; not too fast or slow, he kept it right on the money.  If you haven't worked for the railroad, this might not seem too important a rememberance, but in a profession where your safety and your livelihood largely depends on how well you and your crew functions as a team, earning the respect of one's peers takes on a deeper meaning, and Frankie was a well respected engineer.

At one point in the mid-80's we were working regular together and he knew I was interested in looking for some land in the country.  On a couple of occasions, during our off days between runs he was kind enough to show me around both Amherst and Nelson counties.  I learned a lot about what was out there and began developing an idea of what I was looking for in a property.  It was also interesting to see where he grew up and hear some pretty interesting stories about his youth.  I didn't find what I was looking for at the time, but thanks in part to him, I gained a lasting appreciation for the area, ultimately resulting in my wife's and my recent decision to move to Nelson county upon my retirement.

While I'll miss having a good old railroad buddy right down the road to drop in on, I'm thankful to be able to call him a friend and for having had the opportunity to work with him as much as I did over the years.  My sincere condolences to Evelyn and to Frankie's family.  He will be missed.  As for Frankie; I wish him good power, a light train and clear signals...

So sorry to hear of Frankie passing.  He was a nice person and good worker on the Norfolk Southern Railway.  I enjoyed hearing his voice while working with him from far away and also got the chance to meet him in person a couple years ago. He will be missed.

Worked with Frankie many years on the railroad. Enjoyed. May he rest in peace.

Please accept my sympathy for your loss.  Frankie was a wonderful man.  My earliest memories of him were when he would pick up his mom Mildred at Temperance school after her work. Then in later years he would visit with Karl in the shop.  My thoughts are with you all.

I remember Frankie as a teenager and Harold and I were young marrieds. We were neighbors and he visited in our home almost every evening. To allof the family- so sorry for your loss and we love you all.

I met Frankie again last year visiting my Uncle Lloyd in the hospital. We are family and I have not been connected with my Dad's folks very well through the years. It was a delight talking with Frankie and hearing about my Mom & Dad and the old days. Please know that I am remembering you in prayer and hope to get a chance to visit with you.
