Evelyn Hylton Moore, 90, of Madison Heights passed away Monday, March 8, 2021, at Lynchburg General Hospital. She was the wife of the late Jewett Emmett Moore. Born October 2, 1930, in Amherst County, she was the daughter of the late Oden Hylton and the late Lottie Willow Hlyton.
Evelyn was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church of Rustburg. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend.
In addition to her husband and parents, Evelyn was preceded in death by one son, Randall Moore and one grandson, Jeffrey Moore.
Evelyn is survived by four sons, Steven Moore of Madison Heights, Jerry Moore and his wife Brenda of Amherst, Michael Moore and his wife Dianne of Altavista and Jeff Moore and his wife Teresa of Piney River; six grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; and other loving family members and friends.
A funeral service will be conducted 12:00 p.m., Friday, March 12, 2021, at Whitten Monelison Chapel with Pastor Leland "Lee" Dittman officiating. Interment will follow at Amherst Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
